Cookies
Effective August 9, 2026 · operated by 1581455 B.C. LTD.
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This page lists every cookie WhiteCoat Prep uses, grouped by what it does, and which of them you get a say over. Section 9 of the Privacy Policy covers the same ground in less detail.
1. Analytics and advertising are optional
Both are on by default and yours to refuse below. Under California law the advertising cookies count as “sharing” personal information, so this section doubles as our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
Opting out costs nothing and changes no feature. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser does it automatically, with no clicks. In Quebec the default is reversed: they start off, as Law 25 requires, and run only if you turn them on. We set no social media cookies.
2. Required

3. Payment and video
Always activeStripe and Tavus set their own cookies, but only while you are actually checking out or sitting a session, never on ordinary browsing. They are how a payment clears and how a live video call holds together, so they cannot be switched off separately from the feature. Not using the feature means not getting the cookies.

4. Analytics
OptionalGoogle Analytics, so we can see how people move through the site: which pages lead to a sign-up, where people stop, and how often a session fails to start. Unlike the advertising cookies, these run on every page, including while you are sitting a session. Google is sent the shape of your visit — which page, which station number, how long — with identifiers stripped out first: never your transcripts, your scores, your answers, or anything you say to an interviewer. You can turn these off below, and a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser turns them off automatically. In Quebec they start off, as Quebec law requires, and run only if you turn them on.
Google Analytics cookies
- Purpose
- Distinguish visitors so repeat visits are not counted twice, and keep the current visit together as one session.
- Set by
- Duration
- 2 years
Feedback wait timer (browser storage: wcp_fb_wait)
- Purpose
- Times how long you waited for feedback, so we can tell whether scoring is too slow. Set only if analytics is on, and cleared when the feedback arrives.
- Set by
- WhiteCoat Prep
- Duration
- Until the browser tab closes

5. Advertising
OptionalSet by the ad platforms we buy sign-up advertising from, so we can tell which ads led to a sign-up or purchase and show ads to people who visited these pages. They see which pages you visit here and nothing else: never your sessions, transcripts, scores, or anything you say to an interviewer. You can turn these off below, and a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser turns them off automatically. In Quebec they start off, as Quebec law requires, and run only if you turn them on.

7. Changes
If we add a cookie, this page changes with it. Adding a category that is not strictly required is a material change, so you get at least 14 days' notice before it takes effect, and this page will say what the cookie does and how to turn it off.
